5000T Free Forging Press
A free forging machine is a hydraulically driven open-die forging machine primarily used to perform forming operations on metal billets, including upsetting, drawing, punching, bending, twisting, and cutting. This equipment is widely used in industries such as steel metallurgy, machinery manufacturing, shipbuilding, aerospace, energy, and transportation, and is suitable for producing large forgings and complex workpieces requiring multiple deformation passes.
Description
A hydraulic free forging press is a fully hydraulically controlled forging machine that utilizes liquid pressure to transmit energy. Its most significant feature is that the workpiece is not constrained by a fixed die during the forging process, but rather is freely deformed by upper and lower anvils and operating tools, resulting in a high degree of process flexibility.
This hydraulic free forging machine is primarily used for forging alloy steel, stainless steel, high-alloy steel, and non-ferrous metals. It can perform various functions, including rapid forging, constant forging, and pressure-holding. It meets the requirements of forging processes such as upsetting, drawing, punching, reaming with a spur, and offsetting. It is suitable for the mass production of forgings. PDH can design and customize four-column and frame-type configurations according to specific requirements. Available tonnages include 2,500, 3,000, 4,000, 5,000, 6,300, and 8,000 tons.

What is Free Forging?
Free forging is a process in which a heated metal billet is placed between upper and lower forging irons in a forging machine. Impact or pressure is applied to the billet, directly causing plastic deformation to form the desired forged part. Free forging, due to its simple shape and flexible operation, is suitable for the production of single pieces, small batches, and heavy forgings.
Features of the Free Forging Hydraulic Press
1. The machine utilizes a prestressed composite frame structure, ensuring stability and reliability, and a long service life.
2. The slide guide utilizes a 16-way adjustable guide rail, ensuring high precision and strong resistance to side loads.
3. Incorporating the principles of a high-speed forging hydraulic press, it is equipped with a high-response proportional cartridge valve and a rapid unloading system. This enables high forging frequency, significantly improving customer production efficiency.
4. It utilizes specialized multi-stage pressure relief technology for rapid pressure relief, eliminating pressure relief shock at high flow rates and providing technical support for rapid forging.
5. It can be configured with supporting production line equipment, including a forging manipulator, loader/unloader, heating furnace, feeder trolley, rotary material table, and anvil magazine.
