Automobile Longitudinal and Transverse Beam Press
The automotive longitudinal beam forming hydraulic press is a large-scale hydraulic machine designed specifically for press-forming load-bearing structural components such as chassis longitudinal beams and crossbeams. Featuring a frame-type or four-column, highly rigid structure, the machine boasts a large tonnage, a wide worktable, uniform pressure, and stable operation. It can perform hot and cold pressing, punching, and shaping processes on steel and high-strength alloy plates, and is widely used in the production of trucks, buses, engineering vehicles, and special-purpose vehicles.
Description
The chassis frame is the primary load-bearing component of a truck, carrying almost the entire weight of the cargo. The quality of the frame impacts the vehicle’s service life and driving safety. Automobile frame construction is typically manufactured using a stamping process, employing a hydraulic press for longitudinal/cross beams. This hydraulic press is primarily suitable for punching, pressing, and forming large vehicle floor beams, but can also handle punching, pressing, bending, and forming processes for other plastic materials.
PDH‘s hydraulic press for longitudinal and transverse beams offers convenient pressure and speed adjustment, high-precision stretch forming, and excellent results. Equipped with a dedicated CNC system, it offers low noise, high efficiency, energy conservation, and environmental protection. To address the significant longitudinal eccentric loads caused by long workpieces, the hydraulic press is equipped with a hydraulic balancing system. Closed-loop control ensures the entire machine’s eccentric load reduction function. The hydraulic cushions utilize multiple independent control systems, ensuring no interference between them. Different hydraulic cushions can be selected based on the length of the workpiece being processed.

PDH’s automobile longitudinal and transverse beam presses are equipped with auxiliary loading and unloading devices, significantly reducing labor intensity and improving production efficiency. This equipment is widely used for pressing longitudinal and transverse beams for heavy-duty trucks, natural gas trucks, dump trucks, aircraft equipment trucks, fire trucks, and other specialized heavy-duty vehicles. Commonly used hydraulic presses for molding automotive longitudinal and transverse beams include those with capacities of 2400 tons, 3000 tons, 4000 tons, 5000 tons, and 6000 tons. As a professional hydraulic press manufacturer, PDH can customize presses to meet customer process requirements.
Structure of the Automotive Longitudinal and Transverse Beams Hydraulic Press:
- The machine body utilizes a three-beam, multi-column, multi-nut structure. Its main components are welded steel plates, tempered after welding to eliminate internal stress, and the slide is guided by multiple columns.
- The machine body is composed of welded steel plate components, including an upper crossbeam, columns, slide, and lower crossbeam. The upper and lower crossbeams are connected by columns. The slide is guided by columns and equipped with wear-resistant guide bushings.
- The entire deep drawing press machine design utilizes computer-optimized design, resulting in high strength, excellent rigidity, and an aesthetically pleasing appearance. The main structural components are welded steel plates, tempered after welding to eliminate welding stress. The welds are polished to eliminate slag and scarring. Shot blasting results in a smooth, aesthetically pleasing appearance, high precision, and excellent rigidity.

Features of the Hydraulic Press for Automotive Longitudinal/Transverse Beams:
- It features a three-beam, multi-column structure. The three beams are welded and aged, ensuring sufficient rigidity and strength. The spacious operating area allows for easy viewing from all sides, as well as mold installation and adjustment. The overall structure is simple and aesthetically pleasing.
- The hydraulic system utilizes an integrated cartridge system and proportional control valves, achieving high flow rates, high synchronization accuracy, and robust resistance to eccentric loads. Its simple and compact structure provides agile and reliable operation, facilitating troubleshooting and maintenance.
- The power system is located on top, reducing the machine’s footprint. Safety guardrails are installed around the upper beam, and a ladder is available for easy installation and maintenance.
- It has independent power mechanisms and electrical systems. It utilizes PCL technology and a closed-loop synchronous control system with centralized pushbutton control. It offers three operating modes: inching, manual, and semi-automatic. Different program controls are available to meet the customer’s product length requirements, reducing power consumption. The machine’s operating pressure, pressing speed, and stroke range are adjustable to meet process requirements.
- The hydraulic press for automotive longitudinal and transverse beams can adjust its operating pressure, pressing speed, and stroke range to meet process requirements. A rotary encoder provides automatic feedback control of the slide’s stroke, ensuring consistent slide movement and featuring a hydraulic locking device.
- Due to the significant off-center load during the longitudinal beam forming process, an intelligent slide balancing system is employed to ensure parallelism during the pressing process.
- The machine consists of multiple hydraulic pads. Automatic synchronization technology is employed to ensure synchronized movement of each pad during the longitudinal beam forming and ejection processes.
- Intelligent variable frequency control technology enables stepless control of loading and unloading speeds. Ethernet connectivity and PLC control technology optimize the matching of loading and unloading position and speed with the production cycle, improving production efficiency.
