The SMC battery shell hydraulic press is specifically designed for molding SMC materials into complex shapes, such as new energy vehicle battery cases. This equipment uses heat and pressure to rapidly flow and solidify the SMC material within the mold. Description

SMC is considered an advanced thermoset composite material, primarily composed of glass fiber, unsaturated polyester resin, fillers, low-shrinkage additives, and various additives. Its unique properties include lightweight and high strength, insulation and thermal insulation, corrosion resistance, excellent design flexibility, and dimensional stability. These characteristics make SMC ideal for manufacturing battery casings for new energy vehicles. It provides adequate protection while meeting the demand for lightweighting.

The production of SMC new energy lithium battery casings, PCM new energy battery casings, and composite new energy battery cases requires large-tonnage composite material hydraulic presses. Commonly used hydraulic presses are 800-ton, 1000-ton, 1500-ton, 2000-ton, and 2500-ton, combined with molds for single-stage compression molding. Our SMC battery shell molding hydraulic presses are primarily used for the molding and pressing of SMC sheet molding compound, meeting the requirements of the compression process. The machine’s temperature, curing time, pressure, and speed are tailored to the process characteristics of SMC/BMC materials. PLC control is adopted, which is convenient to operate and has adjustable working parameters. This equipment can be equipped with an in-mold core pulling control system and a preset in-mold ejection control system, which can realize fast descending, segmented pressing, segmented deflation, working, pressure holding, slow mold opening, fast return, slow demoulding, fast ejection, ejection dwell, fast return, and other actions, and the temperature can be controlled at multiple points.

Working Principle of the SMC Battery Case Molding Hydraulic Press

Its operating principle is based on a hydraulic transmission system. After the workpiece is placed in the mold, a hydraulic pump delivers oil to the hydraulic cylinder, which begins to move. Under high pressure, the composite material is uniformly pressed in the mold, forming and solidifying it. Throughout the entire process, the hydraulic system controls the flow of oil according to the preset pressure and speed, ensuring that the composite material is molded to the desired shape.
